Beautiful Day Tag + Color Throwdown Challenge #398 + SSS Wednesday Challenge

Hello crafty friends!

I’m here again today to share with you a gift tag I made for a dear good friend of mine! We’ve been friends for a good three years and I absolutely adore her! This will also be my very first Color Throwdown Challenge Entry and SSS Wednesday Challenge: Shimmer

Here’s some photos.

So hard to capture the glitter effect on the tag. I used my flash on my phone to try and reflect the glitter! It’s lovely up close!

Steps:

  1. I cut my tag using My Favorite Things tag dies. (I used the largest of the dies)
  2. Prepped my tag using my embossing buddy to remove any static cling so as I apply the embossing the powder it sticks to where I stamp my image and no where else.
  3. For the floral I used the outline stamp from Altenew’s Beautiful Day stamp set. I stamped the image using my MISTI tool (I stamped the image twice. I’ll be using the second image for masking) using Versamark ink and applied gold embossing powder and heat set it.
  4. For the leaves and little floral clusters (well that’s what I call it! Lol) I used from the same stamp set. For the butterfly I used Altenew’s Painted Butterflies Stamp Set and did the same steps as the floral.
  5. For the sentiment I used from Mama Elephant’s I Like You Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink and applied gold embossing powder and heat set it as well.
  6. I then watercolored all the stamped images using my Gansai Tambi Watercolors.
  7. To finished off my card I added some glitter shimmer and sequins. I also added a gold string to finish off the top.

That’s it for today I hope you enjoyed today’s post! Thanks for stopping by! Have a beautiful day!

Xoxo,

Lydine

Beautiful Day + Altenew June Challenge

Hafa Adai Everyone!

I’m back and will be getting in the swing of things. Sorry I’ve been MIA! Just finished with school and had some interviews going on and also some family things I had to focus my attention to!

Everything is back on track as it should be. I sure miss making cards! Finally had the time to create one and to share it with you all! I decided to give a shot at making a bendy card. I saw a photo on Pinterest here’s the link for a more details http://www.paperprimrose.com/2014/02/bendi-card-saturday-step-x-step/ and thought it was clever. So, here I am making it. Well attempting  is more better. Lol…

Here’s some photos

I used my phone’s flash to try and capture the shimmer and sparkles but it’s so hard to get it. Up close its just so lovely!

Steps:

  1. For the main base size is the standard A2 card front. (4 1/4 X 5 1/2″)
  2. For the left flap I measured 4 1/4 X 2 1/2″ and the right 1 3/4 X 2 1/2″
  3. I then scored both of the outside flaps  1/2″ and adhered on the back of the main base with some scor double adhesive
  4. Next I scored on the inside of the flaps 1/2″ and made tabs.
  5. Then I took the left flap and made a curve/bend and marked it on the main base. I then made a slit using my penblade #11. I repeated the steps for the right flap.
  6. Now the fun part! First I stamped the floral with the outlined on the middle top with Versamark and sprinkled some embossing powder and heat set it. I then masked off the middle floral and stamped two more florals on the sides.
  7. For leaves and butterflies I stamped the one with the outline and did the same step with the florals.
  8. I watercolored all the stamped images using my Gansai Tambi Watercolors. For the florals I used #42 for the lightest #33 for the darkest and #34 for the center.
  9. For the watercolored leaves I used #53. For the butterflies I used #42 and #34
  10. For the sentiment I used the same stamp set as the florals (Beautiful Day)
  11. To finished of the card I added some sparkles and glossy accents to the centers of the florals and some sequins.

That’s it for today. I will also be using this card as my entry to Altenew’s June Challenge. So many beautiful creations! Join in there’s still time! http://altenewblog.com/2016/06/01/june-inspiration-challenge/

Reverse Confetti: February Sketch For You To Try + Slider Card

Buenas Crafty Friends,

Today I will be sharing with you yet another slider card. This card will be my first entry for Reverse Confetti Sketch For You To Try February Challenge. Here is the sketch #3333_Feb2016

For the slider card I used again different products from my favorite crafting companies. Here are some photos and a short video.

Steps:

  1. Cut card base 5 x 10″ and score at 5″
  2. Cut two front panel to 5 x 5″
  3. I marked where I wanted the cut circles on one of my panels and die cut using Circles N’ Scallops Confetti Cuts
  4. On one piece of the front panel I stamped the two bunnies from the Lunar Animals on the top and the two bottom circles I stamped the bunny butt (hehe..) using Bunny Hop and the stamped heart is from Honey Bunny. I also added some carrots and Easter eggs
  5. I adhere the panel with the stamped bunnies to my card base.
  6. I colored all the stamped images (excluding the heart) using my prismacolored pencils.
  7. For the slider piece I cut it to about 4 x 5.25″ and stamped the sentiments from Bunny Hop and Honey Bunny.
  8. I adhere the scallop die cuts to circles and adhere it to the card base using foam tape. It gives a bit of room for the slider piece to slider in and out.
  9. For the bunny on the upper right. My ink smeared as I made the eyes darker. I didn’t want to start all over again. So, I stamped the bunny onto a scarp white piece and colored him and then fussy cut it and adhered in on top of the previous stamped bunny. Turned out great!

That’s it for today’s post. I hope I created a card right for the challenge. Thanks for stopping by! Have a beautiful day!

Altenew February Challenge

Buenas All,

Today I’ll be sharing with you my card entry for the Altenew February Challenge. For my card I was inspired by the fabulous Jennifer McGuire’s recent YouTube Faux Colored Embossing. Here’s the link to her video http://youtu.be/GUGtURlKpC4 Love all Jennifer’s tutorials so check her out.

First, I started with the roses from Altenew’s Vintage Roses. I did second generation stamping using the solid stamp first and then made my way up to the last layer which would be your darkest layer/color. For the last layer what I did was stamped the layer with versamark clear ink which is a sticky ink. I then add gold embossing powder and heat set it till all the powder was melted. See photo below

Next, I cut my card base to a standard size A2 card and my panels size 4.25×5.50″ and did a tone on tone with my panels using a woodgrain stamp from Winnie and Walter. Once I was done with my stamping I went ahead and cut off some strips from my card base and front panel to add the acetate for the window look. I took my card base and made two strip cuts and did the same for my front panel. First cut was a 1/2″ strip and the second was 1.25″. I kept the 1/2″ strip and saved the other for another project (I love keep all my scraps). See photo below.

You should end up with two of the left side strip and two of the right side strip (see photo above) a total of four strips (strips from the card base and from the panels). For the acetate sheet I cut it to about three inches first and measured accordingly and I cut to about 2.25″. Once I got all my pieces cut I adhere the acetate first to my card base and then the smaller strip behind the acetate on the far right edge.

Before I adhere my last panel I stamped my sentiment from WPlus 9 with versamark ink added good embossing powder, and heat set it till the powder was all melted. Once that’s done I adhere my panel to the card base. I also added some stamped leaves inside the card for it to show through the window I created. See photo below.

Lastly, I added the roses to the front panel. And voila! All done! I hope I did not confuse or lost you while reading through. Next time I’ll take more photos and one day even do a video! Wink wink… Again, thanks for stopping by have a beautiful day! Products listed below.

Hello Beautiful + Second entry for Hero Arts: Fabulous Flowers Challenge

Have Adai Everyone,

Sorry for this late post! Had some family that came in from Saipan (sister island) and I’ve been exhausted with the family gatherings filled with fun and laughter! Family time is everything to me.

I created this card using Hero Arts color layering stamp set. See photo below.

Love this stamp set and all of Hero Arts Color Layering sets. Simply gorgeous! Ok, on to the card! I found an inspiration on Pinterest and wanted to create a card just like it. I’d say it’s not as gorgeous as Joni’s card but I’m happy with the end result. Here’s a link to her blog post with her beautiful creations http://jonininaandaya.blogspot.com/2014/10/pretty-pink-posh-october-blog-hop.html

Here’s some photos of the card I made.

I used spellbinders’s border dies for the layers on top of card and for the cute mini flower & leaf is from Lia Griffith. I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I loved making it. This card will be “Card 2” for my entry for the the Hero Arts: Fabulous Flowers Challenge. Thanks for stopping by!
