Jaely’s 4th Birthday Celebration

Hafa Adai Sweet Friends,

Today, I’ll be sharing with you some party decorations I made and some photos from my daughter’s 4th birthday party-q (party + bbq= party-q) lol… I know lame..;) Hope you enjoy all the photos!

Here are the My Little Pony ear headbands I made for the girl’s party favors. I used glitter foam for the ears and adhered it to the headbands with hot glue. This was definitely fun to make! I made my own template to cut the ears.

I made cupcake toppers using Cut Out and Play My Little Pony Digital Papers for the circle scallop backing. I used Reverse Confetti Circles N’ Scallops Confetti Cuts to cut out the pieces. Here is the link if you’d like to purchase the digital papers https://www.etsy.com/listing/240978820/my-little-pony-digital-paper-kids?ref=shop_home_active_2&ga_search_query=my%2Blittle%2Bpony

I also used the digital paper for the birthday banner. To cut the banner I used We R Memory Keepers Banner Punch Board. Made the flag style banner.

I used the left over pieces from the digital papers for the photo booth frame I made. I cut more embellishments from the glitter foam and adhered it all to my frame.

That’s it for today’s post. Here are some photos from the party-q! Have a beautiful day!

Reverse Confetti: February Sketch For You To Try + Slider Card

Buenas Crafty Friends,

Today I will be sharing with you yet another slider card. This card will be my first entry for Reverse Confetti Sketch For You To Try February Challenge. Here is the sketch #3333_Feb2016

For the slider card I used again different products from my favorite crafting companies. Here are some photos and a short video.

IMG_3564

Steps:

  1. Cut card base 5 x 10″ and score at 5″
  2. Cut two front panel to 5 x 5″
  3. I marked where I wanted the cut circles on one of my panels and die cut using Circles N’ Scallops Confetti Cuts
  4. On one piece of the front panel I stamped the two bunnies from the Lunar Animals on the top and the two bottom circles I stamped the bunny butt (hehe..) using Bunny Hop and the stamped heart is from Honey Bunny. I also added some carrots and Easter eggs
  5. I adhere the panel with the stamped bunnies to my card base.
  6. I colored all the stamped images (excluding the heart) using my prismacolored pencils.
  7. For the slider piece I cut it to about 4 x 5.25″ and stamped the sentiments from Bunny Hop and Honey Bunny.
  8. I adhere the scallop die cuts to circles and adhere it to the card base using foam tape. It gives a bit of room for the slider piece to slider in and out.
  9. For the bunny on the upper right. My ink smeared as I made the eyes darker. I didn’t want to start all over again. So, I stamped the bunny onto a scarp white piece and colored him and then fussy cut it and adhered in on top of the previous stamped bunny. Turned out great!

That’s it for today’s post. I hope I created a card right for the challenge. Thanks for stopping by! Have a beautiful day!

Xoxo,

Lydine

Altenew February Challenge

Buenas All,

Today I’ll be sharing with you my card entry for the Altenew February Challenge. For my card I was inspired by the fabulous Jennifer McGuire’s recent YouTube Faux Colored Embossing. Here’s the link to her video http://youtu.be/GUGtURlKpC4 Love all Jennifer’s tutorials so check her out.

First, I started with the roses from Altenew’s Vintage Roses. I did second generation stamping using the solid stamp first and then made my way up to the last layer which would be your darkest layer/color. For the last layer what I did was stamped the layer with versamark clear ink which is a sticky ink. I then add gold embossing powder and heat set it till all the powder was melted. See photo below

Next, I cut my card base to a standard size A2 card and my panels size 4.25×5.50″ and did a tone on tone with my panels using a woodgrain stamp from Winnie and Walter. Once I was done with my stamping I went ahead and cut off some strips from my card base and front panel to add the acetate for the window look. I took my card base and made two strip cuts and did the same for my front panel. First cut was a 1/2″ strip and the second was 1.25″. I kept the 1/2″ strip and saved the other for another project (I love keep all my scraps). See photo below.

You should end up with two of the left side strip and two of the right side strip (see photo above) a total of four strips (strips from the card base and from the panels). For the acetate sheet I cut it to about three inches first and measured accordingly and I cut to about 2.25″. Once I got all my pieces cut I adhere the acetate first to my card base and then the smaller strip behind the acetate on the far right edge.

Before I adhere my last panel I stamped my sentiment from WPlus 9 with versamark ink added good embossing powder, and heat set it till the powder was all melted. Once that’s done I adhere my panel to the card base. I also added some stamped leaves inside the card for it to show through the window I created. See photo below.

Lastly, I added the roses to the front panel. And voila! All done! I hope I did not confuse or lost you while reading through. Next time I’ll take more photos and one day even do a video! Wink wink… Again, thanks for stopping by have a beautiful day! Products listed below.

Happy Valentine’s Day + Slider Card

Buenas Everyone,

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all! May this day and everyday be filled with tons of happiness & love! Today I’ll be sharing with you another Valentine’s theme slider card. I must say this one is my favorite. I used different products from some of my favorite crafting companies to create this card.

First, I started out by cutting a front panel which measures 4.24 x 5.50″ (standard size A2) with my fiskars paper trimmer and my card base. I then used Concord & 9th Layers of Love Die to cut out the heart shape (I die cut out two). I used one the negative cut out and stamped the cute puppy from Mama a Elephant Lunar Animals Stamp Set with Antique Linen and colored him with my prisma colored pencils and the second one I used for masking. See photo below.

I used distress ink Fire Brick for the ombré look from dark on top to lightest on bottom. I adhere some double sided tape to the back of my panel to hold the negative piece (with the stamped puppy) in place and added foam tape to give some dimension for my slider piece.

I cut out my slider piece, rounded off the bottom using my We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Board, and stamped my sentiment just in the bottom of the slider piece. For the tab to pull the slider I used one part (larger tail) of Reverse Confetti Layered Bow Die Set. At this point I already adhered my main panel to my card base and was testing the slider piece. I notice that the sentiment on the slider was showing through my front panel. At first it was fine but then it kept bugging me. I believe I slide the slider about four to six times and finally decided that I need to cover it. I didn’t want to start over so I ended up adding Yes or No to the slider piece. See photo below.

After adding the Yes No note I testing the sliding and it came out perfect! For the finishing touches I added a small heart confetti to the puppy, added some wink of Stella to the puppy and a ribbon. I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks again for stopping by! Products used will be listed below.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a beautiful day!

Hello Beautiful + Second entry for Hero Arts: Fabulous Flowers Challenge

Have Adai Everyone,

Sorry for this late post! Had some family that came in from Saipan (sister island) and I’ve been exhausted with the family gatherings filled with fun and laughter! Family time is everything to me.

I created this card using Hero Arts color layering stamp set. See photo below.

Love this stamp set and all of Hero Arts Color Layering sets. Simply gorgeous! Ok, on to the card! I found an inspiration on Pinterest and wanted to create a card just like it. I’d say it’s not as gorgeous as Joni’s card but I’m happy with the end result. Here’s a link to her blog post with her beautiful creations http://jonininaandaya.blogspot.com/2014/10/pretty-pink-posh-october-blog-hop.html

Hero Arts Challenge: Fabulous Flowers

Hafa Adai Everyone,

Today I will be sharing with you (I’d call it)”Card One” for the Hero Arts Challenge: Fabulous Flowers. I used a mix of different products from all my favorite crafting companies. I am challenging myself to enter all the challenges and making up to the allowed card entries. For Hero Arts, I could enter up to five cards and I have till February 29th. For the next four days I’ll be creating the cards for Hero Arts and also add another card entry for a different challenge.

It sounds a lot of work but I’m willing to do it and gain more (I’d say) artistic brainstorming going on. I’m one of those peeps that work really well under pressure and knowing there’s a time limit. It makes me brainstorm faster & better (well, I’m hoping better!) Lol… So… Here goes… See below for my entry “Card One”

And here’s a close up

That’s all for today! Thank you for stopping by! Have a beautiful day!

Slider Card + Mama Elephant Products + Another entry for SSSW Challenge

Hafa Adai All,

I’m back with another card post. Today I will be sharing with you a slider card I did recently using Mama Elephant’s Three Amigos stamp set. I must say Mama Elephant creates such cute critters! Love all their products!

I colored these guys using my prisma colored pencils. After I colored them I cut an opening in the area where you usually stamp the cute little messages/words on. I used my craft knife to carefully cut the opening. After that was done I took my card base and places my main panel on top and did my markings so I know where to stamp the little sentiments. See photo below.

Then I added some die cut hearts on my main panel. As you can see in the photos. To add some color I used my distress ink Barn Door. I also stamped a valentine sentiment to my slider panel to add another surprise for the receipient. This slider card was first and I must say I did pretty alright for my first try. If you want to see a short video on the card slider card please head over to my instagram page https://www.instagram.com/creativetouch_gu/ and I appreciate if you follow me for more creations!
